Sujit Das joins McCann for second stint

Das, creative director at Publicis India Delhi, will join McCann-Erickson Bangalore in January 2008. This is his second stint with the agency; the first one was in 1997.

Das, who is an art person, will work with Sujit Unni, creative chief, copy, at McCann. Unni joined the agency in May, after he left Euro RSCG Delhi.

Confirming Das's move to agencyfaqs!, Prasoon Joshi, executive chairman, McCann-Erickson India, and regional creative director, South and Southeast Asia, says, "I have seen Das's work, and with the kind of talent and experience he has, the agency is definitely looking at benefiting from what he has to offer. Unni needed an art partner and Das seemed to be the perfect fit."

Sujit Das
A graduate in visual arts from Calcutta University, Das started his career in advertising in 1992 with Crescent Communications, a Delhi based agency, as a junior art director. In 1995, he moved to TBWA (then TBWA Anthem). He worked at TBWA for two years before shifting to McCann in 1997 as senior art director. He was promoted to associate creative director in 1998.

He moved to Euro RSCG as creative director in 2001 and worked at the agency's Delhi and Bangalore branches. In 2002, he joined Publicis India Delhi as creative director, and has been there till now. At Publicis, he contributed on the Nestle account and played a major role in cornering the dairy business for the agency.

During his career, Das has worked on brands such as ABN Amro Bank, Aviva Life Insurance, Intel, Dell, Microsoft, MSN, HP Compaq, Nike, Weekender, Goodyear, General Motors, Dabur Foods, Maggi, and Maggi Flavour World. He has won awards at the New York Festivals, Abbys, Clios (as a finalist), the Delhi Ad Club (DAC) and the McCann Asia Pacific Awards.
