Ritesh Dutt from Mediaedge:cia has been appointed media director and Sujata Dwibedy of Nielsen India, director, strategy and buying

India Media Exchange (IMX), the consolidated media buying unit of the Starcom MediaVest Group and Zenith Optimedia, has announced the appointment of Sujata Dwibedy as director, strategy and buying, Mumbai, and Ritesh Dutt as media director, Delhi. Dutt will operate from Delhi, while Dwibedy will function out of Mumbai.

Commenting on the appointments, IMX president Shyam Shanker says, “Both bring with them extensive experience in media, buying and planning and it’s always a pleasure to work with such a talented group of people. They’ve worked on some good brands and this experience will give an added motion to deliver the best to our clients.”

Dutt, who was group head, Mediaedge:cia (Group M), before this, has 10 years of experience. At Mediaedge:cia, he was responsible for the buying of traditional media, and the formulating of business strategies and pitch processes. While there, he worked on brands such as Sony Ericsson, Honda motorcycles and scooters, Time Business Solutions and Xerox.

Before Mediaedge:cia, Dutt worked as senior manager, planning (account/research), at the India Today Group. He has earlier worked at Tropicana beverages (1998-2001) as sales promotion officer; Ogilvy Outreach for two years; and Group M as business manager, planning and buying, for another two years.

“IMX has ambitious plans and has managed some great brands with an excellent group of people. I am ready to take on the challenges this prestigious assignment brings,” says Dutt, expressing his excitement.

Dwibedy has more than eight years of experience in media planning and buying. Prior to joining IMX, she spent two and a half years with Nielsen India, Mumbai, as senior manager, media, customised research. During her tenure there, she headed the marketing team of the National Readership Survey (NRS) for two years. Her clients there included The Times of India, ABP, Sakal, Dainik Bhaskar and Living Media.

Dwibedy has also been a part of Lodestar Media as group manager, planning and buying, and O&M as media planner. She says, “I am delighted. My mandate straddles my experience in traditional media buying and media research, which I will integrate and leverage to bring value to IMX clients.”
