Saffron Media launches hospitality magazine and portal

The fortnightly magazine is priced at Rs 50

Saffron Media, a division of the Adfactors Group, is launching HospitalityBiz India, a news magazine and portal, to provide quality information to hoteliers and industry consultants.

The initial print run for the magazine is expected to be 15,000 copies. The magazine, a fortnightly, is priced at Rs 50. It is available only on a subscription basis, in the top 15 metros of the country. The average number of pages for each issue will be in the range of 48-72.

The magazine and the portal will feature trade related trends, cost analysis and detailed content on hotel operations, including food and beverages, housekeeping, technology, security and front office. It will contain information, news, views, analysis and trends in the Indian hospitality industry as also interviews with industry bigwigs. Articles by experienced guest writers will be included to provide an insight into the ground realities of the hospitality industry.

The portal will play a more interactive role and aim to bridge the void of information that a busy hotelier faces due to travel and busy schedules.

The core target audience for the magazine includes business leaders, executives, managers and entrepreneurs in the industry and its related segments, such as hotels, restaurants, hotel management institutes, real estate developers, catering companies, hospitals, air catering companies, food product suppliers, interior and architecture designers, centre and state level ministries, and ancillary service providers.

Sheldon Santwan, editor, travel division, Saffron Media, says, “The travel, tourism and hospitality industry is growing at a very fast rate with the surging economy. To give an example, there is an expected 30 per cent increase in the number of hotel rooms every year in the country. There really exists a need to address the trade issues in the industry and inform professionals about the latest trends and happenings. Our magazine will also have a special pullout section on the food and beverages industry, as that alone contributes 40 per cent of the turnover of the overall hospitality industry.”

HospitalityBiz India will be marketed through trade shows, events and online promotions. Saffron Media’s portfolio includes publications in the life sciences group such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare, capital expenditure, research, food and beverages and travel and hospitality across Southeast Asia, West Asia and Europe.
