Ajay Ahluwalia aka AJ, an ex-Publicis hand, has returned to the world of advertising after a short stint at Guardian Pharmacy, the pharmacy retail chain. He has joined Vyas Gianetti Creative (VGC) as senior creative director. Back at Guardian Pharmacy, he held the designation of marketing head.

Confirming his move to agencyfaqs!, Ahluwalia says, “VGC is known for its attention beyond mass media and a focus on the holistic creative development for a brand. It’s uniquely positioned and is growing rapidly. And I’m looking forward to making a major contribution here.”

In his new role, Ahluwalia will be responsible for the work that takes place for the northern region clients of the agency. At Publicis, he was creative director, and in January last year, he moved to join Guardian Pharmacy. He has had a sales stint with HCL Computers, Chennai and has also worked as a consultant in the psychometrics division at NIS Sparta.

Anjan Roy, president, VGC,says, “Ahluwalia is simply not a great creative guy. He connects superbly with people and his multi dimensional experience helps his brands, as well as, his team. This mix is truly rare”.

In between, he also set up his own design studio and art gallery. During this time, he converted the ATM counter of Bank of America on Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, into an art gallery cum ATM.
