Ambika Nehru joins Rediffusion as ECD

Nehru replaces Rahul Jauhari, who, as agencyfaqs! had reported earlier, put in his papers last week

Ambika Nehru, creative director at Ambience Publicis, has moved to Rediffusion DY&R as executive creative director. Nehru replaces Rahul Jauhari, who quit last week. Currently serving her notice period at Ambience Publicis, Nehru will make the move to Rediffusion on January 21.

Speaking about the appointment, Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar and Ramanuj Shastry, chief creative officers, Rediffusion DY&R, say, “We want RDYR to be a hub of exciting talent. Nehru is full of ideas, strong in films and she is a team player.”

A major in English literature, Nehru has been associated with advertising for a decade now. She started her career as a trainee with McCann-Erickson Mumbai and worked there for around three years. Then she took a year off to pursue her interest in vermiculture and teaching children roller blading.

After that, Nehru joined Quadrant Communications for a short stint before she went on another year long sabbatical. She returned to join Mudra, where she worked for three years. Next she worked at O&M for a short period of six months as creative supervisor. Ambience Publicis followed, where she worked for four and a half years – she joined as associate creative director and was promoted to creative director two years later.

Nehru says, “I am excited to join Rediffusion DY&R because it has the right buzz. I am looking forward to working with a bunch of fun, enthusiastic and talented people.”

Nehru has worked on brands such as Marico, P&G, HLL, McDonald’s, Reliance and Nestle during the course of her career.
