Dinesh Nair joins MindShare Interaction as business director

has joined MindShare Interaction, the digital agency of Group M, as business director in New Delhi. Nair is reporting to national director Madan Sanglikar.

Commenting on his role at Interaction, Nair says, "I will handle the agency's businesses in the New Delhi and Kolkata regions and look after clients such as Lufthansa, Timex Watches, NIIT, The History Channel and STAR TV."

Nair started his career with HTA Chennai in 1995, and while there, he did media planning for clients such as Reynolds, Parryware and Citibank. In 1997, he went to study for an MBA. In 2000, he restarted his career with Euro RSCG Chennai and did media planning for clients such as Perfetti Van Melle and Sara Lee TTK.

Nair's online career began in 2002, when he joined BridgeOverTW, a Chennai based company which offers digital branding and marketing support services such as customer acquisition and retention. Nair was in charge of Citibank's NRI products and HDFC Bank.

In 2004, Nair joined Sulekha.com as product manager, ad networks. His mandate there was to create an ad network in India for Sulekha and monetise it. Nair says "he managed to rope in 40-50 clients (both US and Indian) for the network at a time when advertisers were not too aware about ad networks".

Nair switched to Sify.com as product manager in 2007 and handled the marketing functions of the Sify channels, including Samachar.com, Bawarchi.com, Walletwatch.com and SifyMax.com.

Recently, Interaction also saw the entry of Arvind Mahendru as managing partner in New Delhi.
