Rajesh Kochhar returns to home turf

Kochhar started his career 15 years ago with TBWA, and now he returns there as associate vice-president, account management

TBWAIndia has signed on Rajesh Kochhar, better known as Kochie, as its associate vice-president, account management, in Delhi. Kochie moves from Lowe Delhi, where he guided the Maruti Suzuki team, among other things.

Kochhar says, “I started my career with this agency and it is a great feeling to be back with them. With Disruption, they have created a tool that not only helps create cutting edge and effective communication, but also helps add immense value to their clients’ business. This assignment is going to be an exciting and learning experience for me.”

TBWAIndia’s senior vice-president, North, Nirmalya Sen, says, “After putting together one of the strongest creative teams in the city, we are now in the process of reinforcing the account management team. Kochie is our most significant hire in this process. His mandate will be to lead a strong pool of brand management talent.”

Kochie brings with him 16 years of brand and advertising experience. Prior to Lowe, where he spent two years, he worked with Radio Mirchi. He was part of the team that launched Radio Mirchi in Delhi. In 1993, he joined McCann-Erickson and handled the Reckitt Benckiser account. He spent nine years at McCann and worked on an array of brands such as General Motors, Nestle, Perfetti and Coca-Cola. At Lowe, Kochhar also handled the Hindustan Times account, and was on the team that pitched for the business.
