Outblaze will create interactive community websites for Cartoon Network characters in the Asia Pacific
Turner Entertainment Holdings Asia Pacific has entered into a partnership with web solutions company Outblaze to form a company, TurnOut Ventures Ltd. Based in Hong Kong, TurnOut will create interactive online communities for Turner’s Cartoon Network television channel. The financial terms of the deal are not known.
Through the venture, both companies will create community websites for a young audience. In a statement, Yat Siu, founder and chief executive officer of Outblaze, said that the company will create social media sites with games and video sharing for Cartoon Network’s characters such as The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10 and Mojo Jojo.
The partnership also includes the powering of Cartoon Network’s websites in the Asia Pacific, many of which have been revamped, including www.cartoonnetworkindia.com.
“This partnership with Outblaze will allow Turner the opportunity to leverage our digital assets on existing and emerging digital platforms. With the proven track record of Outblaze in creating successful web businesses, Turner is well positioned to break through the digital clutter and offer our diverse content in a branded environment familiar to our audience,” said Yew Ming Lau, vice-president, business development, Turner International Asia Pacific.
Outblaze has also developed a multiplayer game for Adidas and a community website for Sanrio Corporation’s character, Hello Kitty.
