Group's media venture, Future Media, which operates multiple media vehicles in the "ambience of consumption", has made some appointments. Zee Entertainment Enterprises' chief executive officer, Pradeep Guha, has joined the board of directors of Future Media. Nikhil Sheth has stepped in as national sales director for the company.
Speaking on the developments, Partho Dasgupta, managing director and CEO, Future Media, says, "Guha's vast media experience will augment the shaping of the nascent industry of media in the ambience of consumption. Sheth's appointment strengthens our team and we are sure his leadership style will give a new dimension to the company's revenue management."
Prior to moving to Future Media, Sheth was network head at National Geographic Channel (NGC); he worked there for four years, handling the sales and marketing function. He joined the company as regional head, West, in 2004; in January 2006, he was designated national head.
Sheth has been in the media industry for 14 years. He began at The Times of India's response department in 1994 and was there till 1996. He moved to Mediascope thereafter, overseeing various international publications as senior manager for three years. In 1999, he joined Man's World as head, marketing and sales. While there, he launched the contract publishing division for the group to publish magazines for SOTC and Air Deccan.
After his four year stint at Man's World, he moved to Mid Day as general manager, marketing; he was there for a year. Following this, he shifted to NGC.
Future Media has media properties such as Future Visual Spaces and Future Activation (creating media trends with innovative campaigns), Future Print (My World, a monthly magazine for women consumers), Future Radio (the in-store radio network), Future TV (the in-store TV network) and Future Theatre (media rights across select multiplexes). Future Media is a part of the Future Group, which owns Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, Central, HomeTown, etc.
