Pepper 2008 dons a new logo, calls for entries

The Ad Club of Cochin has called for entries for the Pepper Awards. The awards are sparkling this year with a new logo

The Ad Club of Cochin has rung the gong for entries to this year’s Pepper 2008 creative awards. To be held on March 28 at the Le Meridien Resort and Convention Centre in Kochi, the last date for entries is March 7. The contest is open to advertising agencies from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the four South Indian states.

The categories for this year’s Pepper awards include television, press, radio, collateral, outdoor, packaging and photography. A special set of Kerala specific awards has been incorporated this time in the jewellery, real estate, textile, hospitality and Ayurveda categories.

The judges for the awards this year are Josy Paul, chairman and national creative director, BBDO India; Prathap Suthan, national creative director, Southwest Asia, Cheil Communications; and Raj Kurup, chairman and national creative director, Creativeland Asia.

Pepper 2008 has also decided to transform itself this year. It has a new logo – a graphic form of pepper. Next year, the Ad Club plans to throw open to all the design of the new logo.

The points system for the awards will continue to be the same, with each gold earning an agency 15 points, each silver, 10 points, and each bronze, five points.
