Rajiv Jaitly joins Dainik Bhaskar as president, marketing and ad sales

Jaitly's mandate will be to manage strategic marketing and ad sales for the media business of the group


Jaitly has joined Dainik Bhaskar Corp. (DB Corp.) as president, marketing and ad sales. He takes over the function from Girish Agarwal, director, DB Corp. Jaitly will be based in Mumbai. Earlier, he used to work with Bharti Airtel as chief executive officer, Punjab circle.

His mandate will be to manage strategic marketing and ad sales for the media business of DB Corp. He will lead and bring about synergies between state and national sales to leverage the group's strengths.

Jaitly has 23 years of professional experience in the media, FMCG and telecom industries. He holds a Master's degree in business administration with specialisation in marketing from Long Island University and started his career with Citicorp, New York, as a management trainee. Some of the organisations he has been associated with are Modi Xerox, STAR TV, MESAT Broadcast Network System, Pepsi Foods and Data Access.

It was during his tenure with Bharti Airtel that Delhi became the first circle to achieve a million customers.

Jaitly says, "I am excited with the opportunities Bhaskar presents. I believe it provides an ever changing scenario of market challenges. It's a challenge as any change is. But then, in the true Bhaskar way, that's just the way of professional life."

Commenting on Jaitly's appointment, Girish Agarwal says, "The group will gain from Rajiv Jaitly's vast experience across the media, FMCG and telecom sectors. The business approach and successes he has delivered at Bharti and Pepsi make him the right candidate to take on my responsibilities. This will give me more time for the group's ever expanding businesses in media and power generation."
