OOH Media announces OOBY awards

OOH Media has initiated the OOBY awards for excellence in the digital world in partnership with agencyfaqs! The awards will recognise a worthy social cause that is well depicted through the digital medium

OOH Media has set up the OOBY (out of the box) Awards to recognise exemplary efforts in the digital realm. The awards, which have been initiated in partnership with agencyfaqs!, will encourage participants to think out of the box on a social issue of their choice.

Ishan Raina, chief executive officer, OOH TV, says OOH TV deserves attention from both the creative fraternity and the media world. He points out, “The medium is viewed by 50 million people every month at various public locations like malls, multiplexes, corporate parks, restaurants and in-store. We wanted to dedicate some of our airtime to focus on various public issues and render quality communication to them. Being a media house, we would like to create real impact for the social cause in an effective manner.”

Participants have to create an AV format ad (it can even be as simple as in flash/ animation/ digitisation of a print ad and the usual shoot ad) on a social cause. The ad should not be longer than 20 seconds. The cause could be any social issue, from spitting on the roads to global warming.

Three winners will have their work showcased on OOH Media screens across India. There are cash prizes and a trophy as well. The contest, which began on February 25, ends March 28. The results will be declared a month from then. There’s a special early OOBY to get your creative clocks ticking faster.

“As the leading platform for the community, agencyfaqs! is happy to support another initiative for work on an exciting new platform. We really hope the exposure OOH India will provide on its screens will highlight some meaningful issues in an interesting way,” says Prasanna Singh, chief operating officer, agencyfaqs! agencyfaqs! is the online partner for the event.
