DDB Mudra brings in creative director from Grey

Priya S has been in advertising for 10 years and has won several awards

DDB Mudra, the second agency of Mudra Communications which was set up to service DDB clients in India, has hired Priya S, creative director, Grey Chennai, in the same capacity. She will oversee the Lipton and Johnson & Johnson accounts at the agency, and report to Jagdish Acharya, executive creative director, DDB Mudra.

Bobby Pawar, national creative director, Mudra, tells agencyfaqs!, "Priya is a great team player, and has a hunger to learn. She has a never-say-die attitude, and those are the kind of people I wish to poulate Mudra with. She shall be a part of the team that works on national accounts, and apart form the Lipton and Johnson & Johnson biz, she will also look after new business that flows in."

Priya S
Priya, who has 10 years’ experience in the advertising industry, started her career in 1998 as a trainee at a Chennai based agency called Profad. Later, she moved to Watermarks as a junior writer; four years later, she moved out as senior writer. Following that, she did a short stint at TBWA. She has also done short stints at Fountainhead and Euro RSCG, where she worked as copy supervisor and creative supervisor, respectively. She joined Grey in 2006 as group head and was promoted as associate creative director and, later, creative director while there.

In her years before Grey, Priya has worked on businesses such as ITC, IOC, United India Assurance, Grundfos, Kun Hyundai, Sundaram Mutual, Ramco Cement, Filmfare and Evoluzione. While at Grey, she has worked on Medimix Ayurvedic bath soap, the Kiwi shoe care range and the Kiwi household cleaning range for the Asia Pacific region, Crocodile Apparel (menswear), Schwarzkopf Professional and Aircel Cellular.

Priya has won a Cannes silver, a gold at the worldwide WPP awards called WPPed Cream (pronounced whipped) and several awards at the Abbys and the GoaFest. She is No. 24 on the list of India’s hottest creatives, Campaign Brief Asia 2007, which includes well-known people such as Prasoon Joshi, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Manish Bhatt, Raghu Bhat and Agnello Dias.
