Pandey is more than happy to take up her new assignment. Speaking to agencyfaqs!, she says, “To begin with, the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) business is all about achieving targets. MICE as a business has more to it than, say, taking a bunch of corporates on a fun trip to ‘x’ or ‘y’ destination. Instead, it is a strong marketing tool that needs to be effectively used as a motivational exercise for each and every individual in the organisation.”

At 141 Sercon, Pandey’s key role will be to head online and offline incentive programmes. Her main responsibility will be to strengthen the organisation’s presence and visibility in offline ventures with corporates. Pandey adds, “The idea is to make inroads into existing budgets for MICE by all businesses and offer interested individuals more than what most travel companies are offering them. Because remember, MICE has more to it than just getting a passport and visa for the client and then packing them off to a fancy tourist destination.”

Prior to taking up this assignment, Pandey has been a consultant to a large number of event management companies. She has almost 14 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality business. She started her career in 1994 as a German interpreter. Soon after, she switched lanes and started on a long and fruitful journey in sales and marketing. Her first job was with Star Cruises in the sales department. From there, she moved to P&O Travel, Cox & Kings and finally to Thomas Cook. She has played a big role in setting up MICE operations at Sahara Global and Rams Relationships.

Now, Pandey is looking forward to leveraging her rich experience in tourism and hospitality to build a strong, thriving MICE business at 141 Sercon.
