Eleven Indian agencies shine at AdFest 2008

Leo Burnett and O&M won the most awards – four each

Eleven agencies from India have won awards at the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AdFest) 2008. The winners are O&M, Leo Burnett, McCann-Erickson, Contract Advertising, Publicis Ambience, Grey Worldwide, Rediffusion DY&R, JWT, Corcoise Films, Euro RSCG and Saatchi & Saatchi.

None of the Indian agencies won a gold award. However, Leo Burnett and O&M have won four awards each, including both silver and bronze metals.

Leo Burnett won two silver and two bronze metals. The silver metals are in the Graphic Design and Press categories for Luxor Highlighter and Tide, respectively. The agency won the bronze metals in the Direct Marketing and Print Craft categories for Micro Technologies and Luxor Highlighter, respectively.

O&M won three bronze metals and one silver metal. The bronze metals were won in the Direct Response, Relationship Marketing and Poster categories for Asian Paints’ Cinderella, DHL’s Flags and WWF, respectively. The agency won the silver award in the Press – Best of Financial category for the campaign titled Lamp Post, Lamp Shade and Side Lamp.

Contract Advertising and McCann-Erickson won two awards each. Contract Advertising won a silver and a bronze metal for the ads called Help Me Read This and Aadhar in the Field Marketing and Press – Social Engagement categories, respectively. McCann-Erickson won two bronzes for Anando Milk and Happydent in the Outdoor category.

Corcoise Films, Saatchi & Saatchi and Rediffusion DY&R bagged a single silver award each and Euro RSCG, JWT, Publicis Ambience and Grey Worldwide won a single bronze award each.

In the special awards segment, Adidas was declared the advertiser of the year. JWT was the best network agency of the year and Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore was the best advertising agency of the year.

AdFest is an annual regional advertising event that celebrates creativity in the Asia Pacific region. It is a platform designed to elevate creative standards and promote communication within the advertising and production industry. The festival provides a unique learning opportunity for participants to see some of the best work in the region and hear it first-hand from the industry experts.
