This year, too, Prasoon Pandey of Corcoise Films and E Suresh of Famous House of Animation will judge their respective categories at the Clio Awards

The 49th & #BANNER1 & # Annual Clio Awards have announced their jury. Two jury members have been selected from India. Prasoon Pandey of Corcoise Films will judge the Direction and Cinematography category, while E Suresh of Famous House of Animation will judge the Animation and VFX category. Both have judged the Clios in 2007 as well.

The well recognised global awards for advertising, design and interactive have a healthy mix of jury members for the 2008 Technique category. This jury will assess an array of techniques involved in the making of ads, including direction, cinematography, animation and visual effects, editing and music/sound design. All the awards are to be announced and awarded at the 2008 Clio Festival at South Beach on May 14-17.

E Suresh, who has judged other awards such as the Asia Image Apollo Awards for about three years, is immensely impressed at the quality of work that has been entered for the Clios. "It's mind-blowing. I think the Clios are much more selective than Cannes." He is quite enthusiastic about the chance to notice the new trends that are taking shape and learn while judging.

Though Suresh will not be attending the awards function in South Beach, he has started judging the work through a system chalked out by the Clios.

Pandey has judged at Cannes in the past and is just back from judging the Adfest in Pattaya. He says, "99 per cent of the work is of the same standard as it was for the previous years. It is only four-five ads that make a difference and thus become torch bearers for the year to come." The best that comes out of judging awards, he says, is the discussions that evolve from it. Pandey, too, will not go down to judge the awards, though he has started going through the entries.
