Agnello Dias, fondly known as Aggie, who was national creative director at JWT till April 1, has now assumed the role of chief creative officer.

Aggie began his career in advertising in 1990 at Dart Advertising. He moved from there to Interpublicity and, after that, to Lowe (then Lintas). He joined Leo Burnett as creative supervisor in 1993. After working 12 years at the agency, he stepped down as executive creative director to join JWT in 2005.

Aggie joined JWT as senior vice-president and executive director. Last year, with Josy Paul joining the agency as national creative director, Aggie, too, was elevated, and the two got to share the post of national creative director at JWT. They were also inducted into the JWT World Creative Council.

Across his career span, some of the brands that Aggie has worked on are Unilever, Cadbury, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Fiat, Baygon, Hitachi, Godrej, Indian Oil, Coca-Cola, Bajaj, HP and Ford.

Sharing one of the most memorable moments of his career, Aggie says, “When Chax (KS Chakravarthy) and Pops (KV Sridhar) quit Leo Burnett in 1993, I was the most senior executive creative director at the agency. That was the year when Leo Burnett Mumbai was adjudged the global agency of the year in the Leo Burnett network.”

Lately, Aggie's work for the first Nike ad made in India proved to be very popular with its Konkani music. The Lead India campaign, which was much talked about, was also led by him.
