Amitabh Bachchan has created a blog on BigAdda.com to share his thoughts and views on work, and social and cultural life

Amitabh Bachchan has created a blog on BigAdda.com, the social networking site of Reliance Entertainment. The blog is available at www.bigb.bigadda.com

Siddhartha Roy, chief operating officer of BigAdda.com, says, “The idea to start a blog came from Bachchan himself. He wants a platform to reach out to his community and share his thoughts, views and stories about his work, and social and cultural life.”

Roy adds, “Bachchan will write posts and moderate comments on his blog on his own. Initially, he will be able to write only text posts – he can’t upload images or videos in his blog.”

In an official communiqué from BigAdda.com, Bachchan says, “Bigb.bigadda.com allows me to express myself, share and reflect on my emotions, thoughts and opinions, and listen to what people have to say to me and show them the real side to my larger than life image that they see through media. It’s a platform which I can control and share my own drama on without anyone editing or interpreting my thoughts.”

Bachchan adds, “What’s most important for me is that I can now share consequential replies to the inconsequential gossip that do the rounds. I have always wanted a platform where I can speak for the truth, which is always stranger than fiction.”

Currently, the blog carries four posts, which include two interviews. A promotional ad of his upcoming film, Bhoothnath, is also there on his blog.

“BigAdda.com is not planning to rope in more Bollywood celebrities for blogging as of now. And there are no intentions to monetise the blog,” says Roy.

Another well known Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan, started blogging in 2007. He opted to create his blog on his personal URL, www.Aamirkhan.com, instead of hosting it on a blogging platform.
