S Subramanyeswar moves in from Rediffusion DY&R, where he was the executive vice-president, strategy

S Subramanyeswar (Subbu) has moved to Publicis Ambience as national planning director. Prior to this, Subramanyeswar was executive vice-president, strategy, with Rediffusion DY&R.

Subramanyeswar’s career in the advertising industry spans 15 years, and during that time, he has worked with some big name advertising agencies such as Bates Clarion, Saatchi & Saatchi and Mudra.

Partha Sinha, chief strategy officer, South and Southeast Asia, Publicis, says, “We have a differentiated planning agenda here, which demands different skill sets. Subbu fits the bill well – he has the intellectual width and right kind of exposure.”

“What excited me is the culture of planning at Publicis Ambience. Planning isn’t a department here. It’s a product that is aimed at creating deeper meaning for brands that create lasting relationships. I’m also inspired by the emphasis here on doing fundamental work that will lead to fresh thinking,” says Subramanyeswar.

“We have been investing heavily in our strategic planning function. Getting a really high quality leader for that function was critical, and Subbu is truly the ideal choice,” says Aniruddha Banerjee, president and chief operating officer, Publicis Ambience.

Subbu has handled brands such as Nestle, Colgate, Parle, Dabur, Hyundai, Johnson & Johnson, Mother Dairy, Sony Ericsson, Tata Tea, and Renault during his career.
