India has 18 entries in all. O&M, Leo Burnett and JWT have the most number of entries. The jury, too, has four members from India
The shortlist has been announced for the 49th Clio Awards 2008. Eighteen entries from India have made it to this list. To be held May 14-17 at South Beach, Florida, the awards recognise excellence in advertising and design.
India has received nominations in various fields. O&M leads with eight of its entries having made it to the shortlist; six of them have been nominated in the Print category. Next come JWT and Leo Burnett, with three entries each on the shortlist. Rediffusion DY&R, Mudra, Euro RSCG and Meridian Communications have received one nomination each.
Leo Burnett has been shortlisted for Sir Aurobindho Consultancy – Memory Notepad in the Print Direct Media – Dimensional category. O&M has been shortlisted for Videocon TV – Gunshot in the Product/ Service – Radio category and for Neo Sports – Rusty Nail in the Media – TV/ Cinema/ Digital category.
JWT has got two entries shortlisted: for Pondicherry Yoga Fest – Stretch Festival in the TV/ Cinema/ Digital – Music Original category and for Nike Cricket – Traffic in the Editing category.
Meridian Communications Bangalore has been shortlisted for Treesforfree.org in the Environmental Design – Design category. Sugar Free – Ants Muffin, Ants Ice Cream and Ants Cup by Rediffusion DY&R Bangalore has been shortlisted in the Pharmaceuticals – Innovative category.
India is well represented on the jury, too. Meera Sharath Chandra, president and national creative director, RMG Connect, is on the Innovative jury. Akshay Kapnadak, creative director, McCann-Erickson is part of the Radio panel. The Technique panel has Prasoon Pandey, director, Corcoise Films, judging direction and cinematography, and E Suresh of Famous House of Animation judging animation and visual effects.
