Incidentally, Bhat, an NIIT graduate and a MICA alumnus, started his career in Mudra Communications Ahmedabad as an account director in 1997. He then moved on to become an account supervisor, but later decided to join Bates India (now Bates David Enterprise) Kolkata, where he developed business leads and planned for new businesses. Later, he returned to Mudra for a second stint, this time as a director, brand communications (planning). Next, he moved to McCann-Erickson in Malaysia, where he was responsible for creating plan communication strategies for brands.

On his return to Mudra, Bhat says, "It's a great feeling to be back where I grew up. And the opportunity of working with Sandeep (Vij) was too good to pass up."

For over a decade Bhat has worked on some well known brands such as Paras Pharmaceuticals, Reliance Industries, Rasna Industries, Nestle Products, Coca-Cola and DiGi Telecommunications.
