The beer brand has put up the contest on its interactive portal, and winners will be chosen on the basis of people’s votes
Kingfisher Premium, the beer brand of United Breweries, has launched an online contest to choose the Face of Kingfisher.
Members of Kingfisher’s portal, www.kingfisherworld.com, can participate by uploading their picture on the site. Other members can then vote for their favourite faces and one winner will be chosen every month. A winner will also be chosen at the end of the year.
The site offers personal widgets or PC applications, which automatically show updates, to promote the contest. There are also widgets for the swimsuit calendar and the IPL teams.
“Kingfisher is engaged in creating a connect with its audience through unique experiences and Face of Kingfisher is one of them. This initiative offers an opportunity to young people to be selected by Kingfisher World users as the face of Kingfisher and enjoy the Kingfisher experience,” Shekhar Ramamurthy, deputy president, United Breweries, said in a statement.
Members can also create a profile on the site, and Kingfisher has plans to add more social networking features through which members can chat with each other.
The website currently has a section which links to its presence on social media sites, including Facebook, Orkut, Flickr and YouTube.
