Sachin Mohite to join Miditech as creative director

Mohite will supervise shows such as Parivaar and Chhoona Hai Aasmaan

Miditech Pvt. Ltd, the content production company that is part of Alva Brothers Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, has roped in Sachin Mohite as creative director to head its Mumbai operations.

Mohite was earlier creative head at Endemol India, another production house. His mandate at Miditech will be to develop new concepts and fiction ideas in the general entertainment domain. His immediate responsibilities include supervision of on-air shows such as Parivaar and Chhoona Hai Aasmaan, playing on Zee TV and STAR One, respectively.

Mohite is upbeat about his new assignment: “It’s an exciting time to be a part of an organisation that is continuously striving to meet the challenge of providing diverse, quality content to an increasing number of broadcasters.”

Mohite is an experienced hand when it comes to the television industry. He has more than 12 years of experience and has played a key role in setting up shows for a large number of channels such as STAR Plus, Sony Television, Hungama TV and Sahara One. Mohite began his career as an assistant director for Tara, a popular Zee TV show. As executive producer, he has been associated with shows such as Shatranj and Umeed, considered to be the first bunch of successful shows in television history when satellite television began in India. At Balaji Telefilms, Mohite was a part of the team credited with setting up shows such as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kasam.

Niret Alva, chairman and co-founder, Miditech, is confident that Mohite is capable of significantly contributing to the organisation’s shows and businesses as he brings on board “deep understanding of the television industry and, with his sensibilities, he is sure going to enhance the creative quotient of the shows”.

Currently, the production house is engaged in providing content to clients such as MTV, National Geographic Channels International (NGCI), Discovery, BBC, the STAR Network, Sony Entertainment Television, the Zee Network and Doordarshan.
