Sachin Vashishta to head Internet properties at ABP Digital

Sachin Vashishta has joined ABP Digital as head of Internet properties. He reports to Pavan Varshnei, president, ABP, English magazines and digital properties.

Prior to joining ABP, Vashishta was working with Dainik Bhaskar Digital as national head of sales and marketing for Indiainfo.com, Bhaskar.com and Divyabhaskar.co.in.

Commenting on his role at ABP Digital, Vashishta says, “I will be responsible for consolidating the existing Internet products and also for helping ABP launch new horizontal and vertical portals.”

Vashishta adds, “We might come up with an entirely new project in the horizontal portals category and venture into new domains in the vertical space.”

Although ABP digital properties are based on its print publications such as Businessworld.in, TelegraphIndia.com and AnandBazar.com, Vashishta clarifies that “there is a separate editorial team for each Internet property”.

ABP also has a city specific horizontal portal called ILoveKolkata.in, which is targeted at people living in or associated with Kolkata. The site allows members to upload photos and videos and provides a platform for them to share their articles through a blog section.

Vashishta has experience in both print and digital media. He has worked with Times Internet as business manager and looked after the sales, alliances and marketing functions. Prior to Times Internet, Vashishta headed AutoMonitor, a B2B automobile magazine, and Overdrive, a B2C automobile magazine at Tata Infomedia.

In print, Vashishta has worked with The Times of India and the Indian Express Group at their Chandigarh offices.
