Dish TV makes two senior level appointments

Dish TV & #BANNER1 & # has appointed Vinay Agarwal its new chief executive officer and Salil Kapoor its new chief operating officer.

Vinay Agarwal will take charge from this week and will be based out of Dish TV's headquarters in Noida. He has 28 years' experience spanning telecom, consumer durables, consultancy services and engineering industries in leading organisations across the country.

Prior to joining Dish TV, Agarwal was associated with Grindwell Norton, a Saint-Gobain Group company, as president, Abrasives, where he created new marketing models for the company and implemented a new project to increase the business thrust and profitability. He was also a member of the global management committee for Saint-Gobain Abrasives and of the apex committee of Saint-Gobain India.

An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, with a B Tech in electronics and computer science, and of IIM Calcutta, with a PGDM degree in marketing and corporate planning, Agarwal started his career in 1980 and has worked with several corporate giants. His rich experience in the consumer marketing, operations management and financial management functions has helped the evolution of a wide bandwidth of brands at Saint-Gobain, RPG Cellular, BPL Mobile and the Shriram Group.

Announcing Agarwal's appointment, Jawahar Goel, managing director, Dish TV, says, "We are glad to have Vinay with us. We are confident that his leadership experience will provide great impetus to the growth plans of Dish TV."

Salil Kapoor will join Dish TV in July. He replaces Arun Kumar Kapoor, who quit earlier this year. Salil Kapoor was earlier head, home appliances, at Samsung India. He began his career with Blue Star and then moved to LG Electricals in 1998, where he held various positions. In 2005, he joined Microsoft India, where he was marketing lead, consumer audience business and advertising. Kapoor has 18 years of experience in the marketing, sales and brand functions.
