For the

past three months, Bhopal has had hoardings put up all over it, announcing the Bhaskar Group's plans of launching a Hindi business daily. The hoardings read: 'Businessmen Par Likhi Ja Rahi Hai Jeevaniyan; Ab Aapki Baari. Paesh Hai, Business Ka Ekmatra Sampoorna Hindi Akhbaar; Business Bhaskar'. The tagline, 'Knowledge For Growth', completes the hoarding.

Finally, on June 27, the business daily was launched on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Bhopal edition of the group's Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar.

The business daily has an initial print run of 20,000 in the city and is priced at Rs 1.50.

The next destinations for the12-page pink broadsheet, according to sources in the Bhaskar Group, will be Indore and Gwalior (in Madhya Pradesh) and Raipur in Chhattisgarh. Subsequently, it will go to Tier II towns where the Bhaskar Group already has a presence through Dainik Bhaskar, and its Gujarati daily, Divya Bhaskar.

The editorial team at Business Bhaskar is headed by Yatish Rajawat, who was earlier at Businessworld. Before that, Rajawat was technology editor at The Economic Times.

"We understand the needs of the readers in India's Tier II cities. Business Bhaskar will meet the informational needs of these readers with regard to the international, national and local business environment," says Rajiv Jaitly, president, ad sales and marketing, DB Corp.

Meanwhile, Rajawat is confident that Business Bhaskar "will be able to cover news relevant to entrepreneurs as well as working professionals".
