Manavjeet Singh to head distribution at Big Broadcasting

Singh will handle the Indian and overseas distribution markets for Reliance ADAG's soon to be launched television venture

Big & #BANNER1 & # Broadcasting, the television venture of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has appointed Manavjeet Singh as head of distribution for both the Indian and overseas markets.

Big Broadcasting will launch a bouquet of TV channels across genres in the coming months.

Singh is of the view that distribution is a critical function today in the emerging and cluttered Indian broadcast scenario. His mandate will be to establish and streamline the distribution function and to ensure the company's growth. "To flourish in the business, one has to keep pace with the regulatory and technology changes and keep a check on new business practices because all these developments affect the distribution system in great measures," says Singh.

Singh might be new in the venture, but he is an old hand at Reliance. He was earlier country head and executive vice-president, Reliance Consumer Finance, a division of Reliance Capital. He has rich experience in finance, having worked with the retail assets team of HDFC Bank as executive vice-president. At HDFC Bank, he headed four business verticals, which included car loans, commercial transportation, health care finance, and branch sales. Singh has also worked with SBI Mutual Fund, Citigroup and Xerox.
