Dasgupta will step into the shoes of Shubha Menon, who quit the agency recently

Dasgupta is the new executive creative director of Innocean Worldwide, Hyundai's inhouse creative agency. Dasgupta has been creative director with Innocean Delhi since it was set up in December 2005.

Commenting on his new role, Dasgupta says, "I want to produce superlative work for Innocean. Technically, my basic work will remain the same, but naturally, I will assume more responsibility."

Dasgupta started his career as a copywriter at Leo Burnett Delhi. He then joined Mudra Delhi as creative group head and was later promoted as creative director. He moved to Innocean Worldwide as creative director. He has been in the industry for more than 14 years and worked on brands such as Mitsubishi, Dabur, Samsung, Yamaha, HBO and Electrolux.

Rajesh Laikh, vice-president, Innocean Worldwide, says, "Saurabh has a strategic bent of mind and he adds value to the creative team. I particularly feel he has done exceptional work to relaunch the Hyundai Accent. He came up with brilliant inputs throughout the campaign."

Dasgupta has been on the jury of the Summit Creative Awards and New York Festivals for two consecutive years. He has also been on the jury for the Marketing Effectiveness Awards (MEA) for three years.

Dasgupta has been promoted as executive creative director to fill the post vacated by Shubha Menon. As reported earlier by afaqs!, Menon said when she quit that some things at Innocean made her uncomfortable, which was why she had decided to take a break.
