Media Exchange (IMX) has promoted Mona Jain, executive vice-president, North, IMX to head, strategic investments, India, the newly founded position within the organisation.
For the record, IMX is entrusted with the mainstream media negotiation for the clients of India's two media networks - Starcom Worldwide and ZenithOptimedia. The two networks are independent brands within Publicis Groupe's global company, VivaKi. IMX was founded in 2007.
In an official communiqué, Ravi Kiran, chief executive officer, South East & South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group, elaborates Jain's new role and responsibility, "The new position has been created to better leverage the scale represented by IMX clients, to change the nature of the conversation with media owners, and to turn the relationship with them into a long-term association of strategic importance. Historically, the interaction between buyers and media owners has been tactical and adversarial, but we wish to change that with this move."
Talking to afaqs! Jain says, "I am familiar with the work ethics of the organisation and will strive to take forward the work done in the past. The focus will be on creating unassailable competitive advantage for IMX clients by setting up new-age practices and long-term, value-based relationships with like-minded media owners."
Jain, who has been with IMX since it was founded, will continue to be based in Delhi.
Prior to joining IMX, Jain was executive vice-president with ZenithOptimedia, and was responsible for new business development.
A formal announcement has not been made about who would be appointed to the position left vacant due to Jain's elevation. However, the name of Archana Vyas is doing the rounds.
