Rajiv Lulla appointed CEO of NDTV MetroNation

NDTV MetroNation is a city specific channel for Delhi and NCR

NDTV has appointed Rajiv Lulla as chief executive officer for NDTV MetroNation. NDTV MetroNation is the city specific English news channel for Delhi and NCR launched in September 2007. The channel covers breaking news and provides information to the viewers on topics such as shopping, leisure and health.

Lulla will be in charge of driving the business and leading growth. There are plans to expand to other cities as well. He hopes to actively leverage local content across cities, cater to the local audience and advertisers and strengthen relationships with them. Lulla says, "NDTV MetroNation comprises of an impressive team of professionals. With their professional knowledge and accomplishments, the foundation is laid."

Earlier, Lulla was senior vice-president, Nextar Broadcasting Group in Texas. Lulla has experience in research and broadcasting. He started his career as a research assistant at Stanford University, then moved to CBS Radio followed by a stint at MTV Networks. Lulla has a degree in marketing and finance. He also has several degrees in chemical, petroleum and process engineering. He has attended noted universities such as Kellogg, Stanford, Columbia and Harvard in the USA and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

NDTV MetroNation was launched with the proposition of 'Starring Delhi, Every Second, Every Day'. The channel showcases life in Delhi and its changing scenario. The channel is highly interactive and features the MetroNation Bus, the MetroNation Taxi and the MetroNation Helicopter which enable citywide coverage.
