has appointed Kashyap Vadapalli as director, marketing and operations. Earlier, Vadapalli was sales and operations manager, Google India, and headed the teams responsible for US advertisers.
Prior to Google, he was director, sales and business development, Tata Interactive Services, in the US. Vadapalli started his career with Cadbury India and has more than 10 years of experience in sales and business development. He is an electronics engineer from BIT and holds an MBA from IIM Calcutta.
Elaborating on his role at the company, Vadapalli says, "I will be working for the buyers' side of the business. We want to make eBay India relevant to any consumer who is shopping for something." He adds that the aim of the company is to be a significant player in the consumer shopping space.
Vadapalli reveals that eBay is planning a campaign over the next few quarters. The key message of the campaign will be the variety available on the site and the deals it offers.
