MindShare Fulcrum appoints Jignesh Ghelani buying head on HUL

Ghelani has close to a decade's experience in the broadcasting and media business


Fulcrum has appointed Jignesh Ghelani the buying head on Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL). Ghelani, who was earlier with MediaCom in Toronto, has replaced Rajni Menon, who was with the agency for a very short time.

Ghelani will report to Sudipto Roy, the recently appointed general manager of the agency. Roy, in turns, reports to Ragothaman Gowthaman, managing director, South Asia, at MindShare Fulcrum.

Ghelani will take care of the entire operations of media buying in India and will work with all the available channel options.

Gowthaman comments to afaqs! about the appointment, "He (Ghelani) brings with him skills across trading and ad sales, strategising the broadcast business, business development, along with strategising and negotiating client investments."

Shouldering the new responsibility has seemingly left Ghelani with barely any time. He could make himself available only to make a short comment, "As you know that Hindustan Unilever is among the biggest advertisers in the country, handling this account is like a dream job for me. Being on the MindShare Fulcrum team as the buying head and handling this portfolio is a big growth prospect for me."

Ghelani has more than nine and a half years of experience in the broadcasting and media business, with both national and international exposure. He has worked across a gamut of companies, which comprise both media owners and media agencies. These include Zee Telefilms, Sony Entertainment Television, TME India, and the last stint with MediaCom in Toronto.
