Times Internet appoints Pradeep Gairola as V-P

Pradeep Gairola has joined Times Internet as vice-president. He will report to Sunil Rajshekhar, president and chief operating officer, Times Internet. Earlier, Gairola was associate vice-president, West and South, Ananda Bazaar Patrika (ABP) Group. Based in Mumbai, he was managing the advertising sales for the print publications of the group.

Speaking to afaqs!, Gairola says, “I will be responsible for the online presence of the print properties of Bennett Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL), which includes portals such as TimesofIndia.com, EconomicTimes.com, NavbharatTimes.com and MaharashtraTimes.com.”

On managing the mobile portals, M.EconomicTimes.com and M.TimesofIndia.com, Gairola says, “It is too early to comment on whether I will look after the mobile portals.”

With 17 years of experience across the print and Internet media, Gairola began his career with an office automation company and later moved on to the media industry. He worked across various divisions ranging from advertising sales and marketing to strategic planning.

He has worked with The Times of India Group in its Times Response division for about seven years. He also spent about three years with the Mid Day Group as general manager and was in charge of the advertising sales for the online properties of the group. At the ABP Group, he worked for four years and was responsible for generating revenues for the Ananda Bazaar Patrika and The Telegraph newspapers. He has also worked with the Aptech Group for two years.
