Pinstorm, Lintas to handle Geodesic's new product launch

Geodesic's new product will be launched online by Pinstorm in eight major countries

Geodesic, the Mumbai based mobile content and communications company, has appointed Pinstorm to handle the digital duties for the launch of its new product. Lintas, the performance marketing partner of Pinstorm, is Geodesic's AoR for offline media. The other agencies in the pitch process included Group M, Starcom and Interactive Avenues.

Geodesic has not disclosed what its new product is saying that will make an announcement in about two months. However, afaqs! has learnt that it will be a communication product.

Speaking to afaqs!, Mahesh Murthy, founder and chief executive officer, Pinstorm, says, “We will launch the product in eight major countries including the US, the UK, India, China and Germany. This will be followed by the launch in 40 other countries.”

The online campaign will consist of display ads, search marketing, virals, communities and social media, adds Murthy.

Pinstorm will also handle the mobile advertising for the company in these markets.

Geodesic will use offline media for the promotion in select countries but Murthy adds that “the majority of the spend is on online media”.

In a statement, Kiran Kulkarni, managing director, Geodesic, says, “Pinstorm could understand our product and its potential and came up with a strategy that really brings our new product to life in a unique and powerful way. Its branding and creative recommendations were on the mark and its pay for performance model is extremely attractive for an aggressive marketing driven company like ours.”

Earlier this year, Geodesic acquired the 60 year old children's publication, Chandamama, with the aim of digitising its content.

Geodesic's flagship product is Mundu Radio, an Internet radio service which is also available on Idea Cellular's network.
