Agnello Dias to chair Indonesian Ad Awards

Dias is the only Indian in the jury. He will also talk about the Lead India campaign and Indian advertising at the festival

Agnello & #BANNER1 & # Dias, chief creative officer of JWT India, is in Jakarta to judge the Indonesian Advertising Awards - Citra Pariwara. Dias is chairman of the jury for all categories.

The Citra Pariwara is a regional awards event in which local Indonesian advertising work is entered and judged in various categories such as print, outdoor, film, integrated and ambient, and digital. Jury members include creative heads from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Japan, Australia, China and other Southeast Asian countries.

This is the first time that Dias is judging these awards. Speaking to afaqs! from Jakarta, he says, "I'm in the midst of judging and the work that I have seen until now is really good. The work done on some multinational brands is also commendable."

As chairman, he has to juggle between the various categories of advertising work. "When you are part of a particular category as jury member or jury president, you can tune yourself to that category. Flitting from one category to another makes it a bit tedious," he says. Dias says that he is looking for work that is true to local insights, and not just global.

Dias is also one of the speakers at the seminars that will be held during the awards event. He will talk about the Lead India campaign and Indian advertising. This year, JWT India picked the Grand Prix and Integrated Lion at the Cannes for Lead India, the social campaign started by The Times of India.

In the past, Dias has been on the jury for the London International Awards, D&AD, the Abbys and the Goafest, among others.

The Indonesian Advertising Awards will be announced on November 14 in Jakarta.
