Harita, chief executive officer, Saatchi & Saatchi Focus, has been elected president of the Advertising Club Bangalore. The post was earlier held by PR Satheesh, chief operating officer, Tag Media Network.

Harita was earlier the vice-president of the club. She has been associated with the club for six years and has served there in various capacities.

Speaking to afaqs!, Harita says that the club has undertaken a number of activities in the past few years, but has maintained a low profile. She says that the club will now focus on new segments of communication such as mobile and digital. Other activities such as quizzes and online contests will be conducted at the college level because Bengaluru has a large student base.

To involve the youth more actively, the ad club will organise a couple of youth centric awards. The existing awards for young creatives, called Melting Pot, will accept online entries to enable more people to send in their entries.

Harita's agenda for the club is to have at least one activity in four to six weeks. She aims to organise lectures and panel discussions conducted by well-known personalities from the advertising and communications space. She also wants to look into the induction of new categories such as New Communication in the Big Bang Awards organised by the club.

In another development, the Ad Club Hyderabad has announced the election of K Satyanarayana as its president.
