Titus Upputuru slated to join Dentsu India

According to sources, Upputuru, who recently quit O&M, is geared to join Dentsu India. He will look after the creative function across Dentsu Marcom, Dentsu Communications and Dentsu Creative Impact

Titus Upputuru, who recently quit as senior creative director at O&M Delhi, is poised to settle down with Dentsu India, according to reliable sources in the industry. Upputuru will look into the creative function for all of Dentsu's agencies in India – Dentsu Marcom, Dentsu Communications and Dentsu Creative Impact.

Upputuru was unavailable for comment. However, afaqs! learnt that he will report to Gullu Sen, vice-chairperson, Dentsu India. Senior Dentsu executives could not be contacted at the time of filing this report.

As reported by afaqs! earlier, Upputuru took a brief break after quitting O&M in early January.

Upputuru started his career with Madhyam DMB&B (now Publicis India) in the copy department. After a short stay at Trikaya Grey (now Grey Worldwide), he did a five year stint at TBWA India (then TBWA Anthem). Following a brush with Delhi based Ushak Kaal, he joined Ogilvy in 2003.

At Ogilvy, he is credited with campaigns for Afghan Telecom, the Hutch Delhi Marathon, Sprite (Seedhi Baat), Kinley (Boond Boond Mein Vishwas), Kentucky Fried Chicken (especially Institute of Lickonomics), Fanta, Grasim Suitings, WWF, Dabur, Seagram's and some brands of Perfetti Van Melle.

He has several awards, including at the New York Festivals, One Show, Luerzer's Archives and Abbys, to his credit.

For the record, Dentsu Inc. entered India in 2003 with Dentsu Communications, a subsidiary established in Bengaluru. In 2004, it launched its second agency, Dentsu Marcom, in New Delhi, followed by the Mumbai operations. Dentsu Creative Impact was launched in India as Dentsu's third agency in April 2007.
