Rahul Kapuria joins Collage Sports

Kapuria was earlier with vJive Networks

Rahul Kapuria is now dabbling in sports management. Kapuria has been appointed vice-president, Collage Sports Management, a company which manages the endorsements of cricketers such as Amit Mishra, Virender Sehwag and Ishant Sharma. Earlier, Kapuria was vice-president, sales and business development, media services, vJive Network.

Kapuria’s mandate at Collage is three pronged. He will closely understand a brand’s endorser requirement before going on to suggest a suitable fit; add properties to Collage and will welcome sponsorship marketing as well.

“Many brands are looking for cerebral brand ambassadors and this is where we aim to fulfill their requirements,” says Kapuria. The slowdown in the economy is asking for new and much younger endorsers and the time is right when these endorsers can be tapped.

Kapuria has 18 years of experience in the field of sales and marketing. After completing MBA from IIPM, New Delhi in 1986, he started his career in sales with Voltas. He joined Amtrex in 1989 and worked there as the national sales head for three years.

Subsequently, he joined the Jayanti Group as general manager, marketing, and was with the organisation for the next three years. His next stint was at Magnasound, where he worked for nearly four years as vice-president, sales. Before joining IMCL – among India’s largest integrated multisystem broadband operators – he was associated with Kenstar as general manager for two years.

Kapuria also acts as a consultant on business development for advertising agencies such as Lowe and M&C Saatchi.
