Kamath’s task will be to leverage the channel’s brand equity and strengthen it across multiple channels
Prem Kamath has moved to Channel V as general manager, marketing after being the senior vice-president, marketing and communication, STAR India since 2007. The position at Channel V has been vacant since Mohit Anand quit the channel in November last year, after a six-month stint.

Confirming this development to afaqs!, Kamath says, “After having two years of enriching experience with STAR India, it was only logical for me to move on to Channel V. I am really excited with this move. Channel V has been a truly seminal youth brand in this country and has tremendous brand equity.”
For Kamath, the immediate challenge and opportunity include leveraging the brand equity of Channel V and strengthening it across multiple platforms.
STAR has not yet finalized on who will take over Kamath’s erstwhile responsibilities. Anupam Vasudev, executive vice-president, marketing and communication will handle them for the time being.
