AMO bags Wella Hair Cosmetics

AMO Communications has won the creative duties for Wella, the German hair cosmetics brand now a part of P&G

AMO Communications, a Percept-Hakuhodo Company, has bagged the creative duties for international hair care brand, Wella. The agency won the account following a multi-agency pitch.

Wella India Haircosmetics, now a part of P&G, is a German professional hair cosmetics brand specialising in hair care, hair coloring, hair styling, hair straightening and hair perming. It currently operates through more than 4,000 specialty beauty salons in 30 cities across India.

In an official communiqué, Jitendra Khokle, COO, AMO Communications, says, “As an agency, we have been operating in the lifestyle and retail brands area for quite some time and we have a lot to offer to Wella as a brand.”

Further, he says that the task before AMO will be to build and strengthen further awareness and increase footfalls to Wella’s specialty hair and beauty salons, to begin with.

The media mix for the brand will initially comprise of print and BTL (below-the line), including in-salon branding activities. The Germany-originated Wella has thus far been positioned as a premium brand in India which brings along with it international expertise and innovation in hair care for the professional segment. Founded in 1880 by a German hairdresser, the company has its presence today in more than 150 countries.
