BJP will have a 60-second spot on Dish TV’s interactive channel
DTH service provider, Dish TV has opened up its platform to advertising, starting with a high-pitch campaign by political party, BJP. The party's campaign with the slogan, ‘Strong leader, decisive government’ will run on Dish TV's interactive channel, 999.
A company spokesperson informs that the 60-second commercial will run in a loop for two hours every morning and evening, every time a Dish TV subscriber switches the TV on. Graphic ads are also running on two interactive services of Dish TV -- News Active and Bhakti Active.
The spokesperson says that the key reason BJP chose to advertise on Dish TV is that it reaches remote areas such as Leh-Ladakh and Kargil, and the army is also a voter base.
BJP is the first political party to advertise on DTH and also Dish TV's first advertiser. “With over 5 million subscribers, Dish TV is filling the void in the advertising market by providing a highly targeted medium to reach consumers,” adds Kapoor.
The spokesperson adds, “We felt this was the right time to create an advertising platform, as the subscriber base has reached critical mass. We have over five million subscribers. Apart from BJP, we also have Kingfisher and Voltas onboard, and are in talks with certain other brands.”
