Yuzdi will lead the Indian teams of Starcom IP and will be responsible for boosting the advertising spends of clients on digital media
Starcom IP, the digital arm of Starcom MediaVest Group which has recently relocated Suyesh Shankar from Singapore to India as national strategy director, has now appointed Yuzdi Badhniwalla for the newly created position of general manager, India. Badhniwalla will report to Ravi Kiran, chief executive officer, South Asia and Pushkar Sane, chief digital officer, North and South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group.
Badhniwalla moves in from Mauj.com, a telecom solutions company of the People Group, where he was heading the consumer marketing function and was involved in building relationships with the channel partners. He was also managing the mobile gaming part of Mauj Mobile.
Speaking to afaqs!, Badhniwalla says, “My mandate is to get more clients and convince the existing clients to increase the ad spend on digital media.”
In an official communiqué, Sane says, “We are bringing in diverse talent spanning strategy, media, content, analytics and technology as it will help us in winning the digital game in India.”
Badhniwalla is an alumnus of the Indian School of Business. He has about 12 years of experience in the media and Internet space. He has worked with the Times Group and Rediff.com, where he was involved in the launch of Timesclassifieds.com and in scaling up Rediff P4C classifieds.
Some of the key Starcom IP clients in the region include Aircel, General Motors, Procter & Gamble, Oracle, Samsung and Western Union.
