Shivanand Mohanty to head creative for Dentsu Communications

Prior to this, Mohanty was executive creative director at Dentsu

Dentsu Communications' Shivanand Mohanty, popularly known as Doc, has been elevated as the creative head of the agency. Prior to the promotion, he was the executive creative director. Mohanty will spearhead the agency's creative function across its offices in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.

At Dentsu Communications, Mohanty works on clients such as Toyota, Yamaha, Panasonic, Indian Oil, Incredible India, Aircel and Acer.

Mohanty has been with Dentsu Communications since its inception six years ago. Prior to that, he had a year-long stint at Impact BBDO, Dubai, where he was instrumental in the creative work for brands such as Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge. Additionally, he was also in the team that worked on launching Smirnoff Black and relaunching 7UP with its mascot, Fido Dido.

Mohanty started his advertising career in Interact Vision, Delhi, where he worked for a year and seven months. He then moved to Rediffusion - Y&R, where he spent eight years, before moving to Impact BBDO.

Over the years, he has worked on brands such as Airtel, AT&T, McDowell's, BPL, Wella, Canon and Taj Group of Hotels.

Talking about his new mandate, Mohanty says, "Dentsu seeks to create value for our clients. My task will be to achieve this by creating a more compelling body of quality work, work with more depth and width, which resonates deeply with people."

Titus Upputuru will continue being the executive creative director for Dentsu Marcom, while Adrian Mendonza will continue to head Dentsu Marcom nationally.
