Sudarshan Banerjee comes aboard Mudra as vice-president

In his 13-year career, Banerjee has worked in media, servicing and strategic planning

Sudarshan Banerjee has been appointed vice-president at Mudra, Mumbai. He moves in from Genesis Advertising, where he was heading the Mumbai branch. In his new function, he will look after new business initiatives.

In a comment to the press, Arijit Ray, head, Mudra Mumbai, says, "Banerjee brings with him good business acumen and the experience of working across a diverse spectrum of communication assignments. He would work very closely with the Mumbai team to complement our efforts towards inorganic growth."

In his career spanning 13 years, Banerjee has assumed varied roles in media, servicing and strategic planning.

At Genesis, he was vice-president and general manager, and was also in-charge of Exhibit Genesis, which is in the area of exhibitions. Prior to that, he was with Saatchi & Saatchi, where he was associate vice-president for client servicing. At the agency, he worked on TVS Flame and

Banerjee began his career with Onyx Associates in Kolkata as an account executive. He has worked with Grey Worldwide, Bates 141 (then Bates), iContract, MediaCom and mediaedge:cia (then Zenith Media), iContract and MPG.

The accounts that he has worked on in his career include Coca Cola, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser, ITC, Emami, Nissan, Good Year, Shopper's Stop, Glaxo Smithkline, Tata Indicom and Onida.

A sports and movie buff, Banerjee is a graduate from the University of Calcutta and has a postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication from Jadavpur University. He also has an MBA, with a specialization in marketing, from IISWBM.
