Phonethics to handle digital marketing campaign of Nissan Teana and X-Trail

The automobile manufacturer will use online and mobile marketing to build its Teana and X-Trail brands and generate test drive requests in the Indian market

Nissan Motors has appointed Phonethics to handle the digital marketing for its recently re-launched luxury sedan (Teana) and SUV (X-Trail) in the Indian market.

For the uninitiated, Phonethics is a Mumbai-based agency which focuses on areas such as creation of viral films and animated characters for the digital medium and social media marketing. It had developed characters for advertisers such as Tata Indica (Vista brand) and Sony Entertainment Television. Earlier, it took up only project based assignments. This is the first time that Phonethics will work as a full time agency for any advertiser.

Speaking to afaqs!, Saurabh Gupta, chief executive officer, Phonethics, says, "We will handle both creative as well as digital media duties of Nissan Teana and X-trail brands and use online and mobile marketing for the company."

He adds, "The focus will remain on building the Teana and X-Trail brands in India and also generating test drive leads."

For the same, the agency will use an online banner and search marketing campaign, which will be targeted towards consumers in the SEC A plus category and above 30 years of age.

The agency has clarified that there are no plans to use any advertising network for the online marketing campaign.
