Brand activation agency Candid Marketing has appointed Roshan Nair as associate creative director. Earlier, Nair was creative group head, Dentsu Communications, Delhi.

Discussing his new role, Nair says, "In a crowded market, it makes more sense to out-think the competition than waste resources trying to outperform them. Candid has been regularly creating campaigns which redefine innovations in the activations space. My brief here, in one simple word, is 'Elevate'."

With an experience of more than eight years in the creative and marketing field, Nair's task will be to conceive and improvise the creative spheres of activations. His shift to Candid comes at a time when the industry is looking upbeat about the economy.

Talking about Nair's appointment, Amrita Kumar, vice-president, content and planning, Candid Marketing, says, "Creative is a crucial part of any successful campaign. It becomes all the more important with regard to activations as we try to reach people in less obvious and more unique methods. With Roshan joining Candid, we are assured that we shall begin setting higher benchmarks in activations going forward."

While at Dentsu, Nair worked on brands such as Aircel, Yamaha, Panasonic, Incredible India, DLF and NACO. He has also worked on accounts such as Air Hostess Academy (AHA), Government of India - Ministry of Food Processing, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Delhi Government and GE, DELL and NIIT during his stints at iB&W Communications and RK Swamy/BBDO respectively.

An MBA from the University of Pune, Nair started his career as a management trainee with Procter & Gamble India.

For the record, 14 years into the business, Candid has by now executed more than 30,000 promotions and events across more than 150 cities, providing on ground activation strategies to clients such as HUL, Nokia, ESPN STAR Sports, Cadbury, Pepsi, STAR TV, Castrol, Mars Foods and others.
