Ogilvy to drape Westside
With this Ogilvy adds another Tata Brand to its kitty. The agency already handles other Tata brands such as Sumo, Safari, Titan and some part of Taj Group of Hotels
Ogilvy has bagged the creative duties for Westside, the brand run by Trent, the retail arm of the Tata Group. There was no pitch process, and the account will be handled out of the agency’s Mumbai branch.
The news was confirmed to afaqs! by Smeeta Neogi, head – marketing, Westside.
Prior to this, the account had been handled by Publicis Ambience for quite some time. It is learnt that the account is supposed to move to new hands towards the end of the year.
As is known to all, Ogilvy has a strong bond with the Tata Group. The Mumbai branch of the agency has handled part of the Tata Motors business -- Sumo and Safari -- for decades now. It has also been looking after Titan Watches for almost 22 years out of the Bengaluru branch. Ogilvy recently added Titan Eye+, the eyewear brand under the Titan umbrella, to its kitty. Taj Group of Hotels is another Tata Enterprise brand under the agency's purview, which it shares with Rediffusion Y&R.
The other agencies on the roster for Tata Group brands are DraftFCB Ulka (which handles part of the Tata Motors business, including Indica) and Rediffusion Y&R (part of Taj Hotels and Tata Nano).
Established in 1998, Westside has presence across the country, through 40 departmental stores in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Nagpur, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Nashik.
The various departments at each Westside store include men’s wear, women’s wear, kids’ wear, footwear, cosmetics, perfumes and handbags, household accessories, lingerie, and gifts.
