Almeida, who has spent his career in advertising and broadcasting, will now explore the new media
Albert Almeida, who quit Multi Screen Media (erstwhile Sony Entertainment Television) a few months ago – where he was executive vice president and business head of the flagship channel Sony – has joined Hungama Digital Media as chief operating officer of the mobile business.
He will report to Neeraj Roy, managing director and chief executive officer of Hungama Digital Media.
He adds, "It is an interesting time to enter the digital space, especially at a time when many companies are entering in the mobile space, mobile penetration is on the rise and 3G mobile telephony is round the corner."
Almeida has more than 20 years of experience. He had been with MSM for six years in varied roles ranging from head of marketing to business head of Max, the movies and events channel. Prior to that, he worked in the advertising space for 14 years. He was with JWT as vice-president and regional account director till May 2003.
