The agency has won business worth about Rs 130 crore over the last few weeks

Mediaedge:cia (MEC), one of the media arms of the WPP group, has recently won business amounting to Rs 130 crore. In the last few weeks, it has won the media duties for Oberoi Constructions, Ruchi Soya, Helix, Tikona Digital Networks and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Each of the brands had multi-agency pitches before bringing on MEC as their media partner. Three agencies participated in the pitch for NCP.

Out of these accounts, Oberoi Constructions, Ruchi Soya and NCP are considering multimedia campaigns for their respective brands. Helix and Tikona are primarily print- and online-led clients; advertising in niche publications is also on the anvil for the two.

Apart from these, last month, the agency also bagged the media duties for Hindustan National Glass, Montblanc and Karnataka Government's campaign for the Global Investor Meet. These businesses account to approximately Rs 20 crore.

A television commercial for Montblanc was released a while back, for which the agency handled the media planning and buying. Hindustan National Glass is also considering television as part of its media mix.

In a note to the media, Manjiri Kamat, general manager, MEC, Mumbai and Bengaluru, says, "Boosting company billings and team spirit, winning new business is like an adrenalin shot."
