Vijaya Sriram to head Bates 141's Chennai office

Sriram takes over from Vijay Jacob

Bates 141 has appointed Vijaya Sriram as vice-president at its Chennai office. Sriram takes over from Vijay Jacob today.

Sriram comes from Dentsu Communications, where she was vice-president and headed the agency's Chennai operations. Some of the brands under her purview were Panasonic, Aircel, Indian Oil and Hindustan Latex.

Sriram has 18 years of industry experience. In the past, she has worked with Lowe Lintas, R K Swamy BBDO and JWT. And in those years, she has managed leading brands, including Henkel Detergents, Apollo Hospitals, Proctor & Gamble, UNICEF, Brooke Bond Lipton and MRF.

Sandeep Pathak, chief executive officer, Bates 141, welcomes Sriram, saying, "We are looking at exponential growth of our Chennai business. Vijaya's diverse experience and expertise in handling reputed brands across categories will go a long way in strengthening our business objective."

Sriram's responsibility includes overseeing the new business development and operations of the agency's growing portfolio in Chennai, which includes CavinKare and Apollo. As part of her mandate, Sriram says, she will oversee the output of the agency and ensure the Bates 141 continues to create good work.

Expressing her thoughts on joining Bates 141, she says, "Bates 141 is a prominent brand in the world of advertising. I look forward towards giving my best in taking the mandate forward."

Bates 141 recently brought home a bronze in the Campaign for New Brand category for Virgin Mobile at the Jay Chiat Planning awards. The case study was titled, 'Building a Youth Brand in a Youthful country'.
